FINAL FINAL

1.You stop your planned production... search for the trans black in the enviormentally monitored very crowded paint room........ clean the gun that you just used for the 50 trans red......... stop and shoot the **** with the other guys on the way back from the paint room...... break bell rings and you have bad coffee and a ciggie....oh yeah where were we....... were are still trying to find that one can of trans black....yeah found it....load the gun do a test spray on a small sample of maple to make sure you have got the mix right............ then you spray the body...........go get Dudley .........Dudley is on the phone..........go stop one of the veteran engineers to check paint job since you have never even seen a trans black much less painted one. engineer rejects...Dudley overrules engineer.............Lunch time..........come back where was I......oh yeah send the trans black to buffing......Musphys Law time....when you only have one of an item the buffer drops it or buffs through....repeat previous steps stealing a body that was promised to someone else.....Go upstairs and explain to production control that there was a buff through on the one off trans black.....explain that you had to steal Koogies body he's been waiting for ......production control backs failed part out of system issues new work order for Koogies.........repeat steps 1-15....New body makes it through set up......ship out.....murphys law 2....UPS LOSES OR DAMAGES IT. Clean the balck gun out........load with clear for top coat..........break bell agian..... one guitart has been painted. your guitar I seel wholesale to the dealer has now cost me 3 grand....you get it and are dissappointed with trans black...dargin argues with the dealer.....you post that our trans black sucks on Harmony Central

You see that either it is an active part of the production or its not...your either pregnant or not....black and white not trans black.

Actually I don’t find it funny, instead a bit arrogant:
I wouldn't answer my customers like that, more like:
"No I'm sorry, we can't offer discontinued colors because that would need us to shot down the entire line of production. Further more, the spray cannon needs to be cleaned every time we switch color and that takes time, therefore our decision"
That would have nailed it.
Perhaps include that in the F.A.Q?

Another thing about the previous thread:
I was curious about things regarding the method of production and the problem with colors.
Was the question so shocking and unfair?
I did not get any constructive answers, more like "get it over it man, you won't get that color. Let it rest, beat a dead horse" and bla bla bla
Jesus, what's wrong with you people?

BP finally sorted that out (in his own way) and I also made a thank you note on that one!
I don't ever want to go there again..

I don't know what to say about this one..

The only thing a meant was that is typically my kind of luck (50.000 pieces and none of those are mine)

But then again, I guess if that color were among one of those 50k I still would find another one even more pretty that wouldn't :D

HEY HEY HEY WAIT A MINUTE! Who is taking my guitar body?!??!!? LOL....

Kent, the point is this. Big Poppa loves his customers. He knows where his business is and who makes it. There is no doubt in his mind. Name me one owner of a guitar manufacturer that comes to their own forum to post and tease like he does. You can't. I know. He is human as we all are and tells it like it is. Not with the business "lawyer speak" to make you feel special. He is one of us. He can tell you things in "our" language and sometimes it is blunt, but, it is the truth.

The whole "Custome Shop" has been discussed too many times before on this forum. I know. I have seen them time and time again. Do a search on the subject and you will see what we are talking about.

It gets aggravating to see this subject come up every two weeks or so. You being new here, asking wasn't the bad part. The constant I "don't have the answer I am looking for to appease me" was. Sorry to sound mean to you, I am not trying to be. The color issue is also another thing that comes up all the time. I would love the "sparkle" colors to come back. Simply put, they will not. Do a search on that topic as well and you will see.

Big Poppa and all at EBMM understand that we as consumers want want and want some more. However, we as consumers, need to realize, they are making awesome guitars and cannot please us all the time. The options they have at YOUR disposal and mine are more than many other places. This is to please US and keep costs to within "everyday man" salary. I mean, my Petrucci guitars should cost well above what they are priced at. But, EBMM has not only given ME some great guitars, they have kept them at a reasonable price. A "Custom Shop" will demand much more time, resources, and money that would not be feasible at this time.

I still welcome you to our forum. I know sometimes not being able to get what you want is frustrating, but, that is life. We have to deal with it and move on.

Of course, if Big Poppa needs to correct me in anything, have at it. I still think that EBMM offers more than anyone and just the fact that Jon (repair) and the Big Poppa (owner) come to this forum to talk to us is something I, for one, really appreciate.

Well put Koogie2k!!!

I'll say it one more time on behalf of everyone involved.
EBMM has more choices in their stock guitars than other companies' so called custom shop. Plain and simply at a reasonable cost!

Arrogant? Name calling?

Number one is that I am not here to drive customers away. I also refuse to come here and teflon this thing. Thats disrespectful and phony. I am very direct and have a pretty dry sense of humor. I also don't have a lot of extra time these days. We are having a great time and both companies are going crazy. But I am running two companies in two separate locations and that pretty much entails juggling about 16 hours per day. If it appears that I'm running more people away than Im pleasing I will do something else and put a smooth college intern that knows less than you guys to compliment your every post.
( just another joke on that one)

Listen re read and you will see a humorous description of the manufacturing process. It was meant to put it to bed. It wasn't meant to offend you. Take your ego and feelings out of it and pretend I am describing Raz's one off 7 string sitar. The scenario is painfully funny to me because some of these events happen everytime you deviate from your routine or business model. I think that arrogant would have ignored you.

WE went around and around this forum regarding a forum only custom guitar and or bass. I finally said I'll do it fully knowing that I wouldn't have to because I knew that there would never be a concensus. Getting your sax player to play in tune would be easier.

Maybe Im a little testy on this subject but we only make about 75 instruments per day and no company offers the choices at the option cost that we do, period.

I'm done.... Of to play Augusta National for the first time, juggling has its rewards sometimes

Actually I wasn't frustrated, but consider some answers my questions obviously became misinterpret.
I thought I made it clear that I was grateful and just CURIOUS about the reasons, not in the need for a discussion or being argumentative.
I'm European with average language skills in English, perhaps it came out the wrong way ;)

I was and still am pleased with the choices given, instead of black flame I actually ordered a pacific blue burst a couple of days ago, not a bad alternative at all :D

Things are serious - I'm quoting myself! I've just been thinking, and I have to admit, I am guilty of wanting stuff that companies don't offer. I can't afford a Fender custom shop strat, but moan that they don't offer a 62 reissue strat with noiseless pickups and retrofit s-1 system. Oh yeah, and a flatter radius board preferably in Lake Placid Blue. Bearing in mind the options Fender do offer, it goes to show that no company can cater for everyones perfect guitar, no matter what the size. I could in theory order this exact guitar, but the custom shop price makes this unfeasable - another reason I'm glad EBMM has not gone down that road and has stuck to offering a decent amount of options and keeping the prices down and the quality levels up :)

I have no problem with you. Again, welcome to the addiction! By the way, Pacific Blue Burst is one my favorite colors. You have chosen a great color and you will not be disappointed! Welcome. Pics are mandatory.

I would point out that you were being highly critical of a process that you knew absolutely nothing about, with all your talk of spray paint cans, etc. That is not arrogant?

I'll have to quote myself..
I'm sorry if I step on someone’s toes but I really don't get it..
Could it be that the painting moment is done by a machine?
In that case it makes sense.
Or are the colors perishables and very expensive to keep in stock?

I did explain several times that I didn't UNDERSTAND what the problem was.
Obviously there were some problem down the road and that was what I was curious about, not in the mood to question!

Once again:
Could it be that the painting moment is done by a machine?

A simple "YES" to that question would have explained it, but instead zillions of lame answers came..
