So, I'm thinking of buying this bass. I don't have the s# but what would be your best guess is to the color, it looks like a translucent red to me, but I don't see that color available for a 1995? Anyone?

I have a line on a trade for a Stingray HH, but I'm having a very hard time finding the color and I have no pics.

I'm told it's a 2010-2012 EBMM Stingray HH Black /w red metal flake. The base color is black with red metal flake(sparkles). Does anybody know what the actual color was called, or have any pics?

Thanks!

Need help: Colour of my Stingray

Hi everybody!

I am not sure about the name of the colour of my Stingray 4 I tradet today. Some call it Honeyburst, but some say, its kinda Cherryburst. Its a trans colour, you can see the beautiful grain of the wood. So I'm asking for your help.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, I tradet this Ray for a Fender Mustang Bass that was useless for me. I found the Mustang in an abandoned house me and my father had to blow up. As I controled the loads a last time, I found a closet, opened it - and there it was, a cherry red Mustang. I never played it in 20 years, it did not fit my needs, and now I had the chance to trade it for this beautiful Stingray. It was a no-brainer.

Cheers

Definitely honey burst. Black cherry burst is much darker:

Thank you, nurnay.

I was thinking about Honeyburst, but some "specialists" didn't agree. One was sure to see tobaccoburst....

It is a sweet bass, I played it several hours at home - and 2 hours in a rehearshal situation this evening. It has more byte than my SR 5, maybe because of the alnico PU of the SR 4. My SR 5 has a ceramic PU.

I can tell you, I won't regrett this trade. So happy about the new bass! :D

Cheers

Uwe

I would vote mint green... love that colour and they dont make it annymore. But on the other hand the roasted neck on the blonde is awesomme too! The coulours in the pictures seem pretty acurate to me.

Yeah i have a hard time deciding :) and like you said that roasted neck is just beautiful. If the mint had a maple fretboard I would get it instantly. Not that I don't like rosewood but I just decided on full maple.

I've been looking at both basses all day and you are absolutely right. Mint green looks best with rosewood:)

What to do.... what to do...:(

Edit:
Just to let you know guys I have ordered classic stingray in classic white with roasted flame maple neck:)

If this would be Facebook, I would have hit the "Like" - Knob. :)

White is a classic Musicman Stingray - colour. The owner of my favourite Music-Shop has a one built in 1975, with one piece maple neck. Still a beauty!

Congratulations, you did it right.

Thank you Kong!
I'm just speechless how well made this bass is. It's my first MusicMan bass, before I had Ibanez and it's just a different story:) I posted some pics in the other thread.
Sorry for OT:)

The top one is trans teal for sure. Not sure about the fretless one. Mayebe the tint changed a bit like the trans red went lighter too...
