RPS 9s for my JP6 in Standard Tuning.

Not Even Slinky 12s on my OLP in C-Standard.

Going to switch to RPS10s on my JP6 as soon as I use up my last 3 packs.

Super Slinky Bass Nickel Wound for my balls.
On the Laklands, I use their custom nickel wound strings... but only because I found EB Strings are too short to fit them.

I currently use D'addario 9s, however I am not closed to the idea of trying slinky's. It's just one of those things where you found something that works and don't mess with it. I used to use boomers, but they were the worst. They would last litterally one day, the oils from my hands would corrode them quickly. The D'addario strings last a little longer. Is there anything EB has to offer that will stand up to my acid hands?:D

the JP gets the RPS 10's or the slinky top heavy bottoms (E standard)
the E$P gets the Not Even Slinkys (C or B Standard)
the Str@t gets the RPS 11's (Eb standard)

I've been using EB Super Slinky 9's for just over 20 years. For a short time in the early 90's, I tried the EB 5150 strings. I liked the thinner .015 G string, but didn't care for the sponginess of the .040 low E, so I went back to the Super Slinkies pretty fast.

One of these days I want to check out the Classic pure nickel Slinky's. I would have thought that they would sound a little warmer than nickel-plated steel, but I've read comments that they're actually brighter.

a NOOB question but

this is going to sound stupid but i gotta figure out one day. whats the diffrence between the gauges and how do you tell what gauges each strings are? My brother always bought me ultra light strings. But friends of mine say buy gauge 10 strings or something because I wanna play Heavy Thrash Metal. But when i look at the strings..its just like .010- .049 and stuff so what do i choose for metal?

My guitar came strung with 9s. I did not like them. They break too easily for me. I then tried 10s, but I preferred more substance, so I tried 11s. But, after looking around, I decided to make my own set from singles, and they're 10-14-18-28-38-54. I don't really like it when my high-e is thick, and I really dislike having a thin low-e string. So I get the best of both worlds from this setup. And it keeps my trem floating. Plus, that low-e can drop VERY low...

Super Slinkys all the way around ... electric, acoustic and bass. I'm planning on giving the coated strings a shot on my acoustic in the near future, though.

I use Skinny top Heavy Bottom0.12 on .052 ( for droped C)
Regular slinky.010 on .046 ( Drop D or regular tuning or half step down)
And Dunlop .010 on .046 ( same as regular slinky)

Wow man... I've used ernie ball strings... for me they don't have any punch...they feel like weak. I've been using DAddario for 7 years, I think they have more response or attack to the pick!!
