saw them a year and a bit ago in Seattle.... AMAZING! actually got to talk a little with jimmy in between sets, killer band and alot less "smooth" live. and Marcus Baylor... could quite possibly be one of the finest drummers walking the planet right now, insanely good!

DANYEL!!! Yes!!! got to see them last year in Toronto... what a set!!!!!! I'm not sure aboutthe 4th guy on the list though, but I hear he does make a mean shepherds pie :p
 
i actually don't have a list of favorites ...

Matt Freeman from Rancid is on top of my non-existant list. The dude can play rediculously crazy fast stuff that "fits" and sounds great and can also slow it down and play some bad ass ska.

Dave from Neurosis is just rediculously good too. He played in my friends' band (the Enemies) for a while and it was just amazing to see him live.
 
id put flea at #1.

honestly, he isnt the greatest bassist when you compare him to players like wooten, but who else do you know that can play 16th notes and do backflips off bass drums when playing live infront of 80,000 people?

Well since we are delving into historic players, Ill add James Jamerson, the greatest bass player of all time, and Scott Thunes, one of the great unknown players.

Thats funny...when I heard your demo, I thought I heard some Matt Freeman in there. I love Rancid...Tim Armstrong is great!
 
I bet Jaco would have screwed up a lot of Beatles tunes, given a chance.

I'm sure Wooten would have to really think about polka.

But Peter Tork? Man, he could do it all.
