Every time you trade or buy one or sell one, make a huge deal out of it. "Look at this one, baby! It's got TWO pickups! The other one only had one!" Or, "This one has the compensated nut! Remember when I told you about compensated nuts?"

After a while, the arrival of the UPS/FedEx guy becomes humdrum and the spousal unit grows bored of the details.

Then, baby, you're home free.

Trust me.

This is a tried and true method, as I too have worn my wife down with these very same exclamations!

And then, of course, as a last resort, "Well, how many pairs of shoes does someone really need? You have what, a hundred pairs of shoes? I only have seven basses."

I've used the "shoe" thing before...let's not even talk about all the "As Seen on TV" excercise equipment in the garage.

I get so many deliveries, my dog doesn't even bark anymore.

Jack is right, the secret is trading and selling along with your buying. You have to have at least something moving out when things are coming in. It doesn't have to be exact, we're just talking about the overall concept here.

If you absolutely must sneak something in the house, the best method is to have it held for pickup at the shipping comany's station (or buy it local). That way, you can pick it up and bring it through the door when the time is right. You never want to form a mental connection between the extreme joy of a delivery person knocking at your door with the spousal unit screaming "and what the hell is that!!".

The receipt of basses and gear must always be an enjoyable event :D

Why......IT'S U>P>S> One day early!!! And a pretty new Sting Ray has been delivered. As soon as it warms up....is cold here, I will play and give a review and take some pics!!!!!

Well, made a slight neck adjustment and this bass is ready for some SERIOUS bottom!!They sent the white pickguard on it, however "The lovely Beth" is sending me a shell guard for it.

OK....now the RIC is in it's case...so I won't hurt her feelings....but hey....no comparison in the bottom end dept., the M/M kicks butt!! I also forgot how biteing they can sound...very unique...as a RIC is to itself, so is the M/M.

Flawless finish, ( I'm a real stickler)..better neck than my last M/M by far. This one has it all, looks, (Honeyburst, Rosewood) and great tone. A very "solid" feeling bass. As soon as I upload my pic, I'll post it.

A Happy New Year, indeed.:D

Flawless finish? It cant be! we used a robot on it! JK

Wheres the wife pose?

My Ace-in-the-hole is my wife's Yoga classes/personal trainer/horse riding/gym membership fees.

Yeah, my only restriction is cash flow...

Careful what you say, RicPlayerDude.

HE REMEMBERS EVERYTHING. FOREVER. ESPECIALLY IF IT CAN BE USED AGAINST YOU.

Mine is that I don't pay for haircuts:D Well just for the razors and shaving cream I would use on my face anyways. My wife on the other hand has to have her hair done every six weeks at a cost of $120 a pop:eek: I have had so much gear move in and out of the house she really doesn't know what's what at this point.Let's just say that my pedal bag overfloweth....... but right now I am pretty content with everything I have so the G.A.S. is minimal:rolleyes: now if I could just get that Fulltone Bassdrive......
