Off Topic Who's your fav Music Man bassist :D?

Flea

He made me want a MM!

Timmy C (just check RATM "Bullet in the head")

The fact that BP had a cover of Jeff Ament playing is pre EB MM, also didn´t soften my desire to have a MM!

I'm a rock bassist, and I love Queen, and John Deacon's bass playing. I know he didn't use his stingray exclusively, but that sound he got on "another one bites the dust" is supposed to be a stingray, and it's a great sound.

Also, the vid with Steve Morse, Steve Lukather, and BP playing a Bongo on Little Wing really turned my head on the single H Bongo. Too bad that video isn't available online any more.

Kinley Wolfe from the Cult and Lord Tracy inspired me to get a transitional EB MusicMan Stingray in 1990, even though he played a Sabre. The SR has been my main axe ever since.

Of course, Louis Johnson, Flea, Deacon, Tony Levin, and many others.

With all the due respect (and please correct me if I'm wrong), Flea recorded "Mother's Milk" mostly with an Spector NS-2 as far as I understand.

Holy cow, you are correct, sir! Let me addend my previous statement to say "Fire up any live concert footage from the Mother's Milk era, and witness the Stingray ownage."

Seems like I recall an interview they did with him during the Blood Sugar Sex Magik sessions, where they asked him what he was playing. He answered "Wal bass for recording, but it's just so ugly. That's why I play the Stingray live---it's the coolest looking bass."

For me, the reason I started playing bass and musicmans, it would have to be Simon Gallup of The Cure and Kevin Miles of Gene... Two great players with superb bass lines..

I wasn't familiar with their work, but after checking out some videos, I agree... nice bass lines.
