I agree - but I think most of his recorded work was on his Stingray (after the initial singles Dance Dance Dance and Everybody Dance)
 
Kevin Young, of Disciple, is the musician that influenced me to switch to Music Man from Tobias. I hate that he doesn't play any longer and just sings. His bass playing/stage presence was the most aggressive of any Christian bassist ever.
 
No way Caca, sorry mate but I defend my line of thinking, when I think Of Nard, I think StingRay, yes he used other basses but in General he was a MM player, more so than Tim or John, Tim for sure was a Ray player for a while (the first ratm album iirc) but he is def a Jazz man and as for John, he dabbled with the Ray.
 
Joe Lally with Fugazi!!!
Not a virtuoso but his basslines are big part of the band.
 
I'm gonna say Jesse Bugglione of Lagwagon definitely made me aware of the Music Man/ Stingray tone. Amazing lines played with fingers on an amazing sounding instrument.

Last time Lagwagon came to Toronto, they had A Wilhelm Scream open up for them. I had not really heard much from them at that point. Then Brian came on stage in the middle of Lagwagon's set, took the bass from Jesse, and ripped off the bass solo at the start of Give It Back. He totally nailed it and it was incredible. Plus he played an amazing sounding Ray. Very cool, and he has been on my radar ever since. Very good player.

I just "discovered" Dave Marotta some days ago. Heard him play on one of the namm 2009 videos (roundtable), did a search and found some very interesting sound examples on his homepage (mp3) and utube. I like the way he plays and his sound very much.

Need to check out more stuff from him.
 
Niel Corcoran of Mother Earth (the UK Band) played a Stingray and is one of my all time favs!
