Welcome to the forum, Matty! I think you have broken the record for oldest thread resurrection - 14 years and two months!

It's also fair to say that most of us on the forum may never have participated in this thread, so lets keep going!

Thread from the dead!

------------

I don't really listen to guitar music these days (the 80s ruined my taste for that LOL). BUT when I do, Wayne Krantz is the guy.

My list evolves constantly and depends on what I'm currently listening to, but here are mine at the moment:

John Petrucci
Andy Timmons
Steve Lukather
Mark Tremonti
Larry Carlton

I hate limiting it only 5 and there are many great players whose YT channels I frequent.

Tim Pierce
Brett Kingman
RJ Ronquilllo

to name just a few.

I've been here since 2009 so this one predates me!!! In no particular order:

1. David Gilmour
2. Jeff Beck
3. Steve Howe
4. Larry Carlton
5. Eric Johnson

with honorable mentions to Steve Lukather, Mark Lettieri, Jimi, Chet and others....

Randy Rhoads -- He was the reason that I wanted to pick up a guitar in the first place.
Tony Iommi -- The riff master. I've always been drawn to the rhythm guys because the riff is the heart of the song to me.
Criss Oliva -- In my mind, one of the most underrated players ever.
James Hetfield -- See my Iommi comment.
Billy Gibbons -- I love his tone and feel, and I could watch him play all day.
