A major endorsee? Could it be ... but no. It couldn't (and it probably won't) be ... the dude in my signature?

:D

Tony Levin had a 3 string bass and burned it.

He followed up that faux pax thingy by asking BP to warranty the bass.

So... what makes you think BP would want to give him double? ;)

Well, as the one who popped this thread off, let me just say that it was not my intention to start speculation or rumours about things I know NOTHING about! :) Just reporting what i saw and my excitement at possibly hearing an EBMM on a DT record again. BUT, if I WERE to attempt to read between the lines, I'm afraid my vision would be a bit myopic. But, given the nature of this thread and BP's wonderfully cryptic responses, I think I know what it means, but I'll just let things play out and watch (intently) from the sidelines! :D

Aaahhh... he's just making a statement of something he heard, probably from talking with JP. That's all. ;) But, if and I say IF, JM is playing EBMM basses on this record, of course they sound good! :D

Oh my, don't tell me it tastes just like chicken:rolleyes:

It tasted like a Yamaha.

Guinea pig is called "cuy" in the Andean region and most humble families raise them, much like chickens in rural America in days gone by. The average South American cuy is larger than the pet variety - more like a rabbit, maybe.

I lived in Lima, a large, metropolitan city. Cuy was not something you'd find in Lima, but on weekends we'd drive out to the foothills of the Andes and eat more typical Peruvian food. Most of the places out there were well-known for pachamanca, which is very, very good. Cuy could be ordered on the side. Cuy chactado is fried guinea pig and is kind of spicy....they serve the entire animal (minus the entrails) so prepare yourself to get the head and all that.

Highly recommended Peruvian dishes:

- aji de gallina
- causa
- seco de cabrito
- papas a la huancaina
- anticuchos

I do not actually recommend cuy, nor anything that sounds like 'charqui', which is sometimes but not always dried llama jerky.

Now what is this thread all about?

Hey, BP, did you ever try those jars of spices?

Not a problem, boss. I seem to have misplaced my fave strap at that particular party, so I know things get lost in the shuffle.

But you should really have some aji amarillo and rocoto if not whatever else was included in that set of three. Fabulous stuff and not like any other latin american spices.

I shall bring you some next month.

I see your point, but have you seen my wife?

There are some excellent reasons to admire Peru.

Not to get back on topic or anything... but, for a thread about JM, but not about a Bongo 6, there sure is a lot of Bongo 6 speculation going on. So, here's a question....

If BP said they would only make a 6 string for a major endorsee, and John Myung is NOT that major endorsee, then who else could it be?

If there is trouble coming up with alternatives, then I think we have our answer about what bass JM will be playing on the forthcoming DT album. If the answer is what I think it is, then the bass will definately sound great.
