David,

This is definitely not black! This was the last color we added to the SUB line of instruments. The official color is known as Textured Cinnamon.

And yes, even though we don't make the SUBs any more, you are most welcome to share more pics if you so desire!

Dan

Cheers :) It's cool to know exactly which one I got (incidentally, what I wanted to get in the first place, but couldn't find - I thought the one I had found and ordered was the black)

More pictures will come when I can take some good ones...

There's a couple of better shots too, the colour changing with the light really, mostly the reddish colour, but often a much darker shade or greeny colour (like the second picture)
The top picture came out very like the picture of the SUB Sterling on the mainsite, while in real life it does seem a bit darker to me (then again it is winter and not particularly nicely lit at the moment)

Hi, I received the bass this morning and the colour on ebay photos were redder than actual colour of the bass and I am sure it is Honeyburst, but whatever it is its a beauty:D I questioned for birthday and official colour of this bass at serial number thread so I should know it for sure. When I get a chance I will put up photos but my file attachment capacity is limited so I don't know how to show photos:confused:

Best way to tell would be pics taken in daylight - flash photos are always deceptive! From the sounds of it then it is honeyburst - cherryburst can look pinker and more orangey under flash lighting.

If you want to link up pics, sign up for a photobucket account, then paste the

And, I would add, according to our database, and the original invoice. 'Nuff said!

I do have to add, though, that the Honeyburst finish has changed over the years. When I first started here at EBMM in the early 90's, the colors on that finish (which was then called simply Sunburst), were more separated. Now it seems that they blend together more, giving it a virtual three-tone effect, and also making it a little harder to recognize. However, in my humble opinion, the newer finishes are prettier, sometimes breathtaking. I think the reason for that is our painters are better and more creative than the guys we had then.

I have to agree Dan, my '06 SR in vintageburst is one of the best
3-tones I've seen. I prefer it to the older vintage/burst finishes,
it blends better . . . and I like the colors better. Tell the painters
there to keep up the great work, it's appreciated

Will do, Moondog .... as all the painting is done freehand, it is totally on the painters as to how it turns out, and we have some real talent there, I think.

Hi, my fourth post here.
Amazing to see how fun this forum is.

Just bought this amazing bass (E54480):

Imagem032.jpg

The tone, the colors, everything is just sweet!

A friend of mine bought it for me in the beggining of the year. (I think it was purchased at Bass Central)
I wanna know more info about it. Exact color, dates and etc.
I know this is the right place for the color part, sorry for the other stuff, if that's a better place to ask.

Thanks again for making bass perfection!
