I don't get it either.

But... going back to the spacing.
Is the spacing on the SR4 the same as on the SR5? I know, I could have done a search but I'm lazy today. ;) And I only have a Sterling 4 otherwise I would have measured it myself....

I can tell you that - NO. If it were, this wouldn't be an issue.

Something occurred to me - if this actually happens, it would be very cool if there were some clear way to differentiate the basses based on this process - a simple engraving on the neck plate - heck, call them "The Casey Ball Limited Edition" or something. That would be cool & fun. Just a thought.

REPOST FROM TALKBASS.. EDIT: THIS GOT SHOT DOWN VERY FAST ON TALKBASS, NOT SURE WHY BUT HEY, GAVE IT A SHOT. GOOD LUCK GUYS

Do you guys in the UK need a USA guy to broker the deal? I'll do it, that takes you guys to trust me though but I'll be willing to do it.

If I you write checks to either me or Sterling Ball & the bass is shipped to me, you guys just pay out the shipping costs to the UK & you're all set. A ridiculously low $25 broker fee charged by me which will all be donated in the end to the Ball kidney foundation.

If the deal doesn't go through all you're out is the money to ship your funds back by mail.

I know thats a stretch to trust someone THAT much but I've been around these threads for a while. I don't buy or sell that much so I don't have a huge collection of ratings to go by ( I find what I like & keep it )

If you don't feel comfortable with that I hope you find an inbetween to do it.

PM me if interested.
If I get enough people to want to do this I'll have more details on how we get r done.

Thanks
Mike

Please lets not beat on talk bass My family and its health pays the price. There are very nice people there and we all share the passion of bass...It really shouldnt be this way...I will ask again that we not bash an entire community.

Even trying to broker a deal for the UK guys on talkbass for free was considered solicitation. I can understand that. It would have been nice to grab 20 or so orders & ship them out to them.

I've seen nice, cool, normal people nearly come to blows over Mac vs PC...cuz Mac only had 4% of the market, but that was in '98...

Back to this thread. I've been playing a SR5 since...oh...it was okay to wear very shiny stretchy pants and wear make up if you were a musician, male or female..come on, you know who you are! Anyhow...I love the idea about yet ANOTHER option from eBmM.

It's been said here, 'ya can't please everyone', but looky what we as a bass community got over the last few Years from EBMM...Very cool Rays, Sterlings at a crazy price point with that Sterling Series....The "when hell freezes over" Classic, with the "if only there was a glossy neck"...the 'If only there was a Passive MM" Big Al and Reflex...and then...that Game Changer thingy.
Yeah..and that Bongo, a game changer in itself.

So if the SR5 is going to be the Best Selling 5 String Ever, again with 19mm space...alrighty then. Gotta get my Classic First though.

Didn't realize I'd gone negative in my post... it's deleted.

IMHO it's a shame that something that people thought they wanted, was actually offered, and it appears to still not be enough for them.

I think this and all of the other threads have had enough about what other people want and said or did. The bass is out there now. The clock is ticking. At this point, everyone just needs to worry about themselves.

I ordered one and sure hope this happens. I have been wanting a SR5 HH for a loooong time but stuck with MTD because I like the spacing. Thank for doing this. It would be nice to get something on the bass to declare the "maiden voyage" 19mm spacing... I might buy more than one.

Can we start having fun yet?

I'm in for some fun big time, and with summer NAMM a month away i've got my fingers crossed that there might be an announcement or two from BP and crew of what's coming down the pipe. Now that's fun and exciting!

I still like the SR5 PFD.

Things have turned very positive over on TB. That can only be a good thing for all of us.

I mean, we're bassists. Not lead guitarists.

Im worried about MK in spandex and make up

So does my wife...however, the official "special color" that year for EBMM Ray5s were PEACH...and that did NOT go with Acid Wash jeans tucked into puffy Reeboks, no way, no how.

The spandex comes in handy now..under my jeans to keep my svelty figure...also known as SPANX
