What color?

...And I'm looking to find out the age and authenticity of my stingray

Its quite an unusual colour and I've had quite a few people drool over it these past few years...I guess I'd call it a translucent lime green - I presume its a custom!

Anyway, its S# E07456 & here's a couple of rough pictures:

Any help would be appreciated...

Dijg

Our bass player has the same color MM. Only his has the white pearl pick guard. We affectionately call it Slime-Green ;-) it definitely attracts attention. I like your black pickguard.

After playing every bass on the planet, I just bought a MM StingRay 4. Luv it. People need to understand that these basses seem to sound quite different on their own as compared to actually playing with a band live. The notes cut thought the mix clearly but not too shrill. Just right. Guitar players and drummers like them.

I did like the Fender Precision Deluxe USA, that would have been my second choice. Pretty good too.

My StingRay is Lava Pearl, black pickguard with rosewood fretboard.

Regards, B.

Hi, I am interested to know more about this bass. Can you tell me if you have any info on #29920. I think that it might be one of the 100 "Dath Vader bases". Thanks for any help!

Sorry, I made a typo. Serial is B023207. I'll make a new request... Thx

Wokkel, no worries
B023207 was probably built in 1978, according to musicmanbass.org. Our database doesn't go as far back as this serial number.

Jacob,
please check again these numbers: B023691 and B022922. They are ERNIEBALL basses, born somewhere between 1985-86. Interested in any info available, especially the woods.
Thanks very much!

I've had my pre-owned stingray since Jan 2004 and i've never thought about dating before or known how to date it to be honest but I've just found this forum is there any chance it'll be on your records, it's Black with Black S/P 3 eq, birdseye maple neck with rosewood fret board with 6 bolt neck plate and the serial number is on the bridge. Serial Number 35232

Hi Jacob,

Thanks for the help, but I transposed the serial number of my stingray. It is E45072. SR4 H, honey burst ash wood body, maple on maple neck without a compensating nut.

My apologies
