Thanks for the quick response. Well, dur! Seems I didn't notice the great big "D" before the numbers. So the serial number is D08585.

The bass is an off white colour with what looks like a maple neck. Would be good to find out what the body is made of also though, so any ideas on that would also be much appreciated.

Peabody, unfortunately this serial number is not in our database. However, according to musicmanbass.org, it seems as though this bass was born later in 1978.

B023207 was probably built in 1978, according to musicmanbass.org. Our database doesn't go as far back as this serial number.

Are you sure? The headstock says Ernie Ball, and looking at all the features according to musicmanbass.org the DOB must be around 1986. Could you please recheck?
