Thanks for the quick response. Well, dur! Seems I didn't notice the great big "D" before the numbers. So the serial number is D08585.

The bass is an off white colour with what looks like a maple neck. Would be good to find out what the body is made of also though, so any ideas on that would also be much appreciated.

F270897 is 1 digit too long to be one of our SN's. However, F27089 has a DOB of 06/07/10- a white pearl Big Al-4 SSS.

B023207 was probably built in 1978, according to musicmanbass.org. Our database doesn't go as far back as this serial number.

Are you sure? The headstock says Ernie Ball, and looking at all the features according to musicmanbass.org the DOB must be around 1986. Could you please recheck?

Erwin, this serial number is not in our database, so musicmanbass.org is gonna be your only other reference. If you've found that your bass matches up with the description of an '86, then it must be so.
