You know Yngwie seems to have reformed his ways - I still remember the nasty comments he had about Steve Morse - something to the effect that Steve's vibrato sucked the bag. Lately though he has been a lot more gracious, even apologizing for some of his comments when he was younger, I guess ten years without a North American will humble you somewhat.

As for Laiho - sounds like someone whose ego surpasses his talent, I guess he figured he would take up Yngwie's mantle of most obnoxious guitar player.

Never been a huge Yngwie fan, but didn't hate his stuff either.

And his Paganini lesson on the 5th caprice in the same issue is something I'd like to tackle. Anyone try that yet or can already play it?

I figure about 3-6 months for me to learn it and play it well.

Probably closer to 6. :(

Speaking of Yngwie - the title of his latest CD is "Unleash the Fury", also discussed in that issue of GW.

That is too funny, if you have not look up the recording of the incident that this is connected too -Yngwie talks like a comic book in his everday conversation as well.

I beg to differ. You don't need to be rude to be honest. He definitely maybe a good guitarist. But that needs to be demonstrated by making more quality music rather than impudent comments, especially in today's world where he is still a developing artist compared to DT. People living in glass houses should not throw stones. I am sure actions speak louder than words.

FYI, I am not a very big fan of JP either (except the first few DT albums). But that is more of my personal taste, and I frankly don't think he is a *bad* guitarist as Alexi had stated.

Welcome to the forum. BTW, you play EBMMs? If so, what do you have?

Well, for one, your comments are bold. Not a problem. Alexi is an amazing guitarist which I have stated. However, he cannot come close to JP in the aspect of guitar playing....my opinion of course. In the "Metal World" no one has to be polite...that is true. However, there are dudes in the "Metal World" that Alexi just cannot touch. Who cares about the genre of music that they play? No one here because of the diversity of people on this forum. I can tell you now, dude is not the caliber of player that some others are. Simply fact. JP would teach dude any style of music. So can Morse, Gilbert, Vai, Satch, as well as many others. He can play, but his mouth runnith over. Why does he make comments like that? Because it is an attention grabber. No more, no less. How about, shut up, show some respect, and let the music do the talking.

As for being, and I quote, "Sh*tty ass dream theater lover.." Yep, but so what. How many records have you sold? Thought so. Do you have the caliber of JP? Nope. So you don't like dream theater. You opinion. But, once you listen to JP play, you cannot deny his capabilities. Do you have a signature guitar? No? Well, sounds like jealousy to me. How about Alexi? No? Hmmmm....imagine that.

Well I guess we finally have our resident obnoxious poster, and one who thinks his opinion is fact too (or at least the opinion of the object of his affection). Go back to your room and wank off to your poster of Alexi.

To each his own, like who you want, don't who you don't.

Whoever inspires your own playing listen to as much as possible.

I was never into Hendrix. Still not. Never even bought one of his albums to this day. Same thing with Clapton. Nadda.

That's what's kinda cool, you don't need to like, or even care, who other people like. Even if it's a lot of other people.

Exactly, like who you want but have respect for other people's opinions,

Sh*tty ass DT lover was totally uncalled for and juvenile and really not in the spirit of almost every poster on this board.

I hope Alexi likes his day in the sun because an attitude like that at his age will get him nowhere in the music business. He'll step on too many feet and get himself thrown back to Bodom.

Actually, the music business, like all businesses, is filled with plenty of a-holes who do rather well.

Some enter the business that way. Some become that way once in.

It's much more rare to find those who don't have anything bad to say about anybody. More like a diplomat.

Real sh**ty for your fisrt post, my friend. In case you don't know, this forum isn't for flamers or for people who want to get into yelling matches. Stop trying to start fights. Take your sh*t (to quote you), else where. This forum ain't the "Metal world," dude, so be polite.

Yeah good riddance to trash, although Koogs if it came down to a battle of wits between you and him, he was unarmed.

hhehehe...thanks. I have to deal with far more angrier people (job related) than this dude/dudette. The sad part is, they would have benefitted from this forum. Just be civil for cryin' out loud. Not everyone likes JP, but, those who don't on the forum don't act like that. This is not the place. If he wants attitude and be in the "Metal World", go to the BC Rich forum. That is nothing but a bunch of kids flamin' and acting like idiots. Even the administrator there (he is in his 40's) acts like a 14 year old. I read some stuff over there, but do not post. Puberty will not let experience work over there. Silly kids.....we all were and still are.....but, we have some respect here. I hardly get mad on this forum, but it has happened. We are human, but this forum has tremendous respect amongst it's members. We may not entirely agree with each other, but, we do respect one another. That is how it shall remain with the rabid chihauhau on patrol...heheheehe

Yes, I am armed........ ;)

Sorry but COB doesn't do anything for me, it's cacophonus dribble at best, almost like bad church music :D

I DO listen to COB as well as JP. Both are very talented, but Alexi ran his mouth and he would benefit from a clinic from JP. That is nothing but the truth. My musical tastes are very diverse......Alexi is not in JP's league, but again, he is talented and is up and coming. Just because he is in a successful band does not give him the right to be a pri%k. Just be glad there are people out there who buy your CD's and go to your concerts. No need to slam others......to me, it seems like he is jealous. JP does not get boring. Of course, if you only have one CD, then yeah, it can get boring.

Basically, if you are good, it will show. No need to mouth off. Who is he trying to convince......himself?
