That is truly rediculous, but I had to do the same thing when a "friend" pawned my PA

Probably the proper course of action is to sue the person who pawned it.

I can see them wanting their money....but, they should, by law, have the proper ID of the person who pawned it and get it from them. I talked to them and they wanted to talk to JF which has happened. How come they did not seize it? I don't know. I just want the dude to get his bass back. I know I had something to do with them not selling it....as well as Buck Owens.....;) I will give the full details once that bass is in JF's hands. It is a good one. As of now, that is about all I can do. JF...it was good talking to you...let me know if I can help anymore for you.

yep, there is a good story behind mr. buck owens....being a business owner i wanted to chime in here....

i own a baseball card shop and we are always buying and selling....ive had times where we knew of certain stolen cards and their serial numbers, so when someone brought them in to sell them, we would call the police up and stall, then when the police got there, they would sieze the cards.....

ive also been on the other side.....we had some cards stolen from our shop, and started calling local dealers....well, we found the cards in a shop about 100 miles away, and got the cards back and the shop was the ones who were out the money....so ive been fortunate....

I was thinking the same thing, I could spare $5-$10 for this...

I have a paypal account but I am new here, so if a senior member would like to handle it that would be great. I'm good for $10.

On another note I would think if you bought a stolen item that is your problem and you should have to give it back, but that's just my honest opinion...

It's good to hear from you, Jean Frederic.

Having to pay for the bass is bull____. In the States, once you prove the item is yours, you get it back. It's the pawn shop's problem how they get their money back. At least that's how it worked for me when I saw a kid riding my $400 bike down the street one day. The same bike that was stolen from my garage a month earlier.

Always file a police report!

So, I take it JF, you are going to pay to get your bass back? If so, I will still put in some $$$ to help you. Just let us know what you are gonna do unless I read the posts wrong. Either way, I will throw some $$$ towards it. I am just glad we caught them in time before the bass went bye bye....
