(I also love the idea of getting the news media to pay a visit to the store......the media is a powerful thing!)
So true, and in this day and age the media love to jump on an Internet related story to boot.
This is such an amazing story that I'm sure they could not resist.

I think there is something in Canadian law where the person who has "unwitingly" purchased stolen merchandise should not be out of pocket for the amount, but it seems like there are different rules for pawnshops. I tried to do a law search on this but no luck.

I know when a similar thing happened to me I had to buy my gear back, suck!

OK, I'm going to get in touch with the local Vancouver news team that does an "On Your Side' kind of thing where you go to them with sheister deals and they put it on the news and get it sorted for ya!!....ofcourse I'll wait until the bass is en route to JF just to make sure. But I'm pretty sure we can recoup the dough!

good to see the cops involved though, the hour+ on the phone with them yesterday was a lesson in futility almost. I tell ya, I TOTALLY respect and applaud the men and women in uniform but it seems like a chore when you're trying to do the right thing.

anywho..... good excitement to kick out the last days of Summer! :p

no **** eh ? I mean they say they are there to help ppl , but it took everything and lots of ppl to get them moving just a bit ...

So have you gotten your bass back?

Man, if this was the US that pawn shop would've been busted for receiving stolen property! I had a keyboard stolen once that I had engraved my name and phone number into the bottom of... a buddy found it a pawn shop in Boston... along with a bunch of other stolen stuff and the Boston Police shut the place down and the owner got convicted and fined big time.

And I got my keyboard back without paying a dime!

That you, or anyone, has to pay is just so wrong! :(

Whoa, that is almost certainly his bass.

No way that grain can be exactly duplicated.

Serial number is the key - and also whether or not he filed a police report.

If he didn't......might be SOL.

We told him to file, didn't we? Now the question is - did he?

Jack

oh and yeah bov , I had made a fille , i dunno tho if they put it for the bass or against Rob or both , but I had a file thing is they only gave it to me like , this week when we busted our asses off for it , and they just jerked me off for 2 days until enough pression was made I guess to get some police officers to get there.

I've only used PayPal to pay for things using a credit card. Is there any way I can get some money to JF this way? If not, PM me a postal address, Jean, and I'll chip in via snail mail.

It's the same process, and the payment is simply deducted from your credit card.
