Let's criticize...

Not to criticize, but offer a suggestion to countersink the control cavity
cover on the Bongo. The piezo covers are countersunk (& so is my
Sterling's control cavity). Didn't stop me from buying one, not a biggie,
but would make a great bass even better.
 
what's wrong?

not a whole lot.

the basses are great, i have a few honest comments from the retailer side of things..

A: Would like to see EBMM basses/guitars shipped with a thing of proper cleaner for the neck.
B: Want it to be an option to order a bass with white pickup covers.
C: A stronger presence in the 6 string market. The EBMM basses dominate the bass section, but we've got my Floyd Rose guitars than we do EBMM guitars (seriously, floyd rose brand guitars).

now for my personal beefs

A: my buttercream is going to take too long and better not come out wrong...
B: no option for gold/black hardware.
C: The rosewood sounds so much better but the maple feels so much better...
D: EVERY case i've had has cracked.
E: won't fix my stereo panning volume pedal. :(
F: No option to order mutes
G: no 2-band w/piezo's
H: no white bongos
and for my final "complainty thing"

I would like to see some special edition stingray that has a more indepth electronic system. with push/pull pots for coil tapping, mid shift, frequency boost. etc... and give it an xlr balanced output.

that would be sweet.


and if you did decide to get fancy with the electronics... put them in my buttercream fretless unlined stingray with piezos.....

Suggestion/whish-for item..

Heres one more before it does go to heaven :D

I agree with Morrow, I also like having a active/passive switch on the bass. Good to have if the battery runs low in the midddle of a gig, and of course the sound-alternative.

When that is said;
I really love my newly bought SR5 though, having so much fun with it :D :D
It's active warm, fat sound kicks through any mix :)

Love the complaint about the case, too.... give me a break :rolleyes:

Since you are already redesigning a new preamp (even though you just came out with the newly designed, tested, prototyped and released Bongo 4 band, 18 V preamp with neodymium pickups) for a limited use, can it also have a built in mp3 player? I mean, that way, I don't have to bring anything to plug into the PA during set breaks. Oh, but I don't want it to eat up the batteries too much, so you'll have to resolve that whole "limited storage" problem that batteries present you with.



Oh, and coil taps for the Bongo humbuckers would be nice, too. :p

Not really a criticism but would like a thumb rest option. Actually, I've been playing my Sterling for about 3 months now and I'm sort of getting used to not having one. I saw a great idea in a thread in this forum some time ago showing a pick guard on a Sting Ray with actual thumb holes with beveled edges. If EB offered a pick guard with thumb holes option, that would be great! However, everyone would no doubt have their own idea where the thumb holes should be located so I'm sure it wouldn't work. If anyone is interested, I've been in contact with Brian Boots who will custom make one if your trace out your pick guard on paper and draw in where you want the thumb holes and send it to him.

I'm crazy about my Sterling with no real criticisms. Any criticism would have to be of myself for not hooking up with a Music Man bass some 30 years ago.
 
How's about a handle (like this lovely... you guessed, Ibanez)? I like to carry my bass around alot....

I wrot in a former thread, that I'd like custom knobs for the Bong'. I'm sure EBMM will still produce their instrument, despite of that too hard criticism.

Would it be possible to ad a beer drawer next to the bridge (and the beer keg would be on good place next to the cab) :D

Who needs a keg? The headstock already has a built in can opener... :D

The annoying thing is that I believe you.

So, I want one. If I buy a single humbucker Bongo to go with my other two, do I get to join some secret Ernie Ball club that entitles me to things like broken Bongo headstocks? :D
