I love this kind of threads. Thanks for sharing and big congrats to your "new" guitar!
I´d like to know if Steve owns another one of the first 50 and where all the others are.

Nice but dangerous thread.

Some of us are ready to commit murder in order to grab one of the holy 50.
Thus guys, watch your step, don't walk alone in a dark street, eat only the food you prepared yourself, check the brakes of your car ...

My wife actually wonders about that stuff... I have numerous *nice* guitars (many signed by the signature artist - Joe Bonamassa, Derek Trucks, John Petrucci, Robert Cray, Steve Vai, Keb' Mo', Matt "Guitar" Murphy, B. B. King, Johnny Winter, Alex Lifeson, etc.) - especially when she saw the reports how most cell phone pictures actually include GPS data.

Told her not to worry about Internet guys (fortunately there's an ocean between me and your mean looking cat :) ) - but local crackheads that are within a few miles (have teenage sons that have numerous friends in/out of the house).

House is alarmed, and like every red-blooded American am prepared to meet a home invasion with several high-speed lead injectors! :)

Funny, I can't recall the colour of the tail pieces. Mine (#23) is chrome for sure. Hopefully Pete can confirm from the pics.

I mean from all the interviews that Steve gives, #1 practically goes with him everywhere. Even unbolts the neck when an airline wont let him take the whole guitar carry on because it simply won't go under the plane.

I just love the TRUE relicing of #1 over time. Such a beautiful one to look at.

A gal just published a book with detailed/artsy pictures of "108 Rock Star Guitars" - and Morse's #1 is one of them, but there's only a couple pics of it. Details here: 108 Rock Star Guitars | Rock on!

I'd like to have a whole book just on his guitar - oh the stories it could tell! :)

Cool book, but no Eddie Van Halen? Isnt he arguably the best guitarist of all time? I know a lot of people have blacklisted EVH for being a douche of sorts, but come on! His contributions are undeniable!

I won't deny EVH's contributions, but have to stop short of calling him the best guitarist of all time.

Respectfully,

That's awesome!

Once #11 (if I recall correctly) came on ebay, and I lost it for a last second bid :(

That guitar is history!!
