Ok, folks, I have just a few more tasty morsels of pre-NAMM snackage to come from our factory sneak extraordinaire. First a message for Glenn...

Spy Info No.6: Black Limba will also appear.

Two more left. The last one is said to be so exciting it will be transmitted in code on a shortwave number station. When I have it decoded I will pass it on to you. Stay tuned.

For Tip #1 I wonder if they‘re gonna make a Jason Richardson 8 String, just thought about that.
Guess the new colors are for the Kaizen now.
I wish i could go to NAMM and see all the new Stuff for real

Maybe they chambered it, like the 25th Anniversary Game Changer or the JPX
Are there any chambered Guitars in their current LineUp?
I'm not sure. I know there will be a chambered PDN run of a particular model coming up, but I doubt that counts. At least not as far as this NAMM thread is concerned.

Hopefully the L4 has normal sized ss frets. That was the ONLY thing that didn't make the L3 a completely awesome guitar for me.

Personally, I'm hoping to see the JP6 return in at least another limited run this year. I adore my 20th.

That would also be the deal-MAKER for me as well, the reported "small" frets are the biggest reason I haven't pull the trigger on an L3. Most of my guitars have at least Fender medium jumbos, and my DGT and Charvel have 6100s- JUMBOs. I'm a big fan of big frets.

They list them as low/wide frets. I also thought it would be a problem since i like the medium jumbo on the gibson. But instead i love them on the luke2. I think its the combination of the small neck and low frets that makes it work. Feels effortless.

And I agree, ss frets would be the deal maker.

What was the reasoning for the small frets initially?

Lukather's preference. The regular production signature guitars that EBMM makes are made the way the artists want them. In the first decade of the Petrucci guitars, if JP changed his preferred string gauge, the production guitars changed to match too. The LIII initially came with all-rosewood necks. After a couple of years, Luke's preference changed to roasted maple and the production of all LIIIs switched.
