So I would not expect smaller body or different frets for that reason.

My only gripe with my LIII's is that the frets are not SS. I don't even notice the size difference and most of my other guitars are at least a medium jumbo.

WHY would you ever deck a double locking vibrato? That goes against it's entire reason for being!
But wait, doesn't one of the Axis models already have this type of tremolo or am I missing something?

Talk to EVH, it was his thing. And the Axis guitars are made like that to this very day.
Huh. Makes zero sense to me, but ok. Eddie's EBMMs with Floyds were decked? I know his older Frankenstrats with the Fender bridges were, but even his Floyds were?
I have a bandmate that has an original Axis... I'll have to ask him

See the link to the Axis guitar in my post above. The strings are locked in place at the bridge and also with a locking nut at the headstock. Once tuned, the strings are locked in place. Because the string cannot move across the nut or saddles, there is no friction through nut slot or over the saddles to affect tuning stability. The drawback is that it can be more complicated for tuning and/or string changes.
Note that the Axis (which was originally the EVH model) is the only production guitar in the EBMM stable that has had a double locking trem it's whole life. The Axis Sport and Axis Super Sport models had/have a Music Man vintage trem. The first version of the Lukather guitar also was double locking, the Silhoutte and the Steve Morse had it had it as an option too. It's been on a few limited edition guitars too, like the JP16, there was a BFR Cutlass. etc.

I am thinking that there will be a Kaizen in a six string version to appeal to the masses who do not play seven string guitars but love the design of the Kaizen.
Also, I stand by my earlier Luke with a Floyd Rose prediction. It just makes sense.

That's not what I meant, lol. I was just going to ask him if his Axis has always been decked, (I don't know if it's even decked now.) He plays a tele most of the time, his Axis is mostly his "backup"... we have a couple tunes were we have to go to drop D, so it'll be interesting to find out if his guitar is decked.

The fret size Lukather likes isn't available in SS. If it were, we'd might have seen SS frets on the L-series guitars by now.
According to info on this forum, directly from EBMM, a few of the models DID have SS frets, I forget the exact ones, but the Tumescent was one, I think? Whichever one was like a black sparkle... maybe not Tumescent, can't keep track of all the clever color names LOL
