I think this is just fabulous, little bits of info, hints, photos. I can't wait to hear and see more. Very nice of the EBMM organization to keep their customers and fans informed and involved, kudo's to all.
My thoughts, love the body, can't wait to know more about the neck profile as well as the pu switching options.
Great Stuff !!!!

That is the ONE! I feel like this bass is the one that's been trying to come out of SLO for years but the time just wasn't right, stars where not aligned, etc, etc. Great job, that will be a double order this year, fretless and non cant wait. Again, great job BP!

I'll ad my lame opinion just because it seems I can.
I don't like the axis guitar, visually only that is.
When I saw the pic of the bass take on it with the 3 single coils it took me aback.
I look at it and I see an old friend, something I could very comfortable and happy with for a long ass time.
You don't need my praise but I raise my glass (and wallet) to all those involved, bravo.
I call "instant classic" on this bass.

BP, not being at all up to speed on your guitar products, i'd like to ask you if the body of the Axis guitar (which this bass appears to be based upon) is contoured, and if so will this new "Axis Bass" have the same body contouring? Thank you.

Initial impression: it's everything I could want from a bass.
Kudos to the whole crew.

can i be the first to offer a different view, now before i say this i know u cant make a bass to suit everyone blah blah... but i dont like the body shape, its abit too bulky to me, it reminds me of a washburn idol bass

Google Image Result for http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m257/skiscem/silverburst.jpg

hope this link works but anyway thats just my opinion, iam sure it will be a top seller for you poppa, remember design is a subjective thing.

roscoe how can you say its bulky without holding it and playing it? It is not even close to bulky it is much tighter than anuything made previously posting a link to a washburn is poor form. I got no problem with you not liking it....This is the risk I take when Ishow works in progress
This is why bands never play rough mixes.....I can handle it.

That is actually the first time i really dig the looks of a bass....could it be because it reminds me of a guitar??:D

Great job BP and co, and thanks for the sneak previews!

I'm digging it! At first, I wasn't sure. But now, with the elegant shape, sleek lines, tremendous amount of configurations, and BP's description of the tone, I'm extremely intrigued!!

Wow! This will be like a Bongo for people that prefer more classic looks?! Just sold my Stingray because I never played bass. This might change!

Sterling, will there be any contours on the body? Like a tummy cut or maybe even arm contour? (or is that impossible because of the binding?)

Argh! question's keep coming up, sorry.

Last one: Will this be a BFR instrument or a 'regular' EBMM?

I never seen a bass in this kind of shape. I'm loving it so far!

Thats Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet Bp !!! Talk about great timing for me too. Im just making the switch from guitar to bass , and as an Axis / Evh player, this is RIGHT down my alley!!!! Ill take one each of a Purple , Emerald, and Bahama Blue Quilts, in each p/up config.. Bring it on !!!!

Sorry BP, didn't mean to offend. I really do believe you know best for decisions made with this proto. I was just offering my honest opinons as feedback but it seems the overwealming majority seem to love the new axis design so it should probably stick, proving you right!

I guess my narrow mind isn't quite ready for a new shape. I suppose there was controversy over the bongo at first but now everyone loves it. I'll just have to save for a new ray or bongo instead... until the new design grows on me (i'm sure i'll love the finished product, can't wait to see how it turns out).
