What Colour is this? or EBMM Bass Finishes Guide

Can I get some opinions up in here???I'm reading a lot lately about guitarists who believe thier basses or guitars sound and play better when the nitrocellulose coating breaks down and comes off. General opinion is that the wood dries out and the tone improves quite drastically (Rory Gallagher was the most well known backer of this theory).
Even though EBs are not nitro coated would it A)make any difference to have one with no exterior coating at all and nice dry wood? Or B)Its simply a case of age being the main ingreident to improving tone etc? or C)The guitars were rubbish anyway, they just sound better without the pooh all over the wood? Any thoughts?

Color help please

I traded for this 2004 HSP Bongo not too long ago. And the seller listed it as Burgandy Cabernet. But I can't seem to find that color listed. And I can't really tell from the other photos on here what color it really is.
Anyone sure about it? This is the truest pic of the color I can find.
Thanks guys.

I think you're right. The more I looked at the pictures, the more certain I became.
Now all I need is the DOB and I'll be all set ;-)
Thanks Fuzz.

Can anyone tell me the official name of this medium metallic blue on my 2001 model SR5? Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic. Thanks in advance!

Looks like it could be Blue Pearl. With a little more light I could say with more certainty.

Send me your info and I'll send you some paypal love. Do you have any patio furniture for sale? (The old dudepit guys will know what I mean.....)

Does anyone know if the eygptian smoke finish is still available for 6 String Bongos?

I don't believe it is. Unless a dealer has one new, your best bet is the used market. I know Bass Central has a 4 string version still in stock but I have never seen a 6 string in Egyptian Smoke.
