Glock..come on and give the Benji a rest. He sold a zillion records and exposed us to a newer younger audience and the timeing was bad. I wo0uld still do it again.

Fullshred A good idea is to agree to disagree. I will do that without calling you greedy lazy or stupid. SOmething that you couldnt do.

EVERYBODY FULLSHRED THINKS VINNIE SHOULD HAVE HAD A SIGNATURE GUITAR FROM US>

The rest of it is between Vinnie and us. I will not let you escalate this into something it isnt or never was intended to be. Case closed. If you want to rant then do it someplace else. I had no problem with you disagreeing just the insults mixed in were a little cheap

One question...Vinnie left us....why are you bagging on us about it? We didnt fire him or send him away....

here are Vinnie's own words in response to a question posed by Raz.......

"I am not sure about doing a signature model. For whatever reason it doesn't really appeal to me. I tried it once and it didn't go so well.

Who knows though - maybe someday."

Sounds like that day is today. I have no problems with his choice I just am not doing it.

Thanks

One question for the new guy... since your a big VM fan and think you're "protecting" him in some way, I was wondering: Do you not understand that this is good for Vinnie? And by the way, I'd like to know where you got your musical qualifications and your vast biz-knowledge, since you see no clear link between album sales and market for signature models.

Not to interfere, but I think there's nothing (useful) left to be said. Isn't it about time to wrap it up?

I apologize BP, The Benji thing was in response to what Tristan was saying when he stated

"changing pickups on a silohouette special and ading a seriegraph on the headstock is just not what I call a signature..if you like that, go to fender"

You'll never hear me mention Benji again after this post.

That's the VM quote I was refering to on the early pages of this thread. Thanks for finding and posting it BP.

Guys, really, none of this is our business. We're all entitled to our opinions and emotions (for lack of a better word). But seriously, none of us know the full story or what the deal was between MM and Vinnie.

as Sterling said in his last post: Vinnie didn't intially want a sig model.

Also... I remember being there in person when Sterling asked Vinnie is he wanted a sig and Vinnie said "no". A lot of us were there... this was at the open house artist round table.

But like Sterling also said... that was then and this is now. Things change and it looks as though Vinnie now wants a sig

We have no idea what the handshake deal between Vinnie and MM entailed. But it seems like both parties are being cool about how things have recently panned out and have a great respect for the other.

Lets let them do their thing.

And really - lets not tell Pops how to run his business. that's none our business either

I think people just forget that this is a not a public forum, and that BP doesn't HAVE TO share this or anything else with us, but he does. It is all about respect gentlemen.

Well said, unfortunately that fact will never be totally understood by alot of fellows out there.

We are talking here with peolple who really have data and trustful info about MM. They are part of the company.

Intending to know what should have been done is too naive.

What we're dealing with are corporate Representatives or Stakeholders who have a biased opinion based on what's in their COMPANY'S best interest.

But that shouldn't surprise anyone ;)

What are you? Fourteen?

If not, you certainly are coming across like someone of that age.

And, for someone who thinks of himself knowledgeable about the music business, you certainly have a flair for looking like an utter jackass. Maybe you should work on your interpersonal skills a bit.

Yes! God forbid they make a business decision that is in the interest of the company! Who would you prefer speak on behalf of the company? Somebody other than the owner himself who wouldn't know anything about the subject? This just absolutely, without a doubt, proves you have never, ever run a business before. You have a long way to go before you understand why companies endorse artists. It's a mutually beneficial relationship. Not a charity one way or the other. I talked to Vinnie this morning and he thought everything was cool in this thread and even said so. But I'm sure he's not pleased about the sour turn this has taken when he has no grievances.

Did he call me a Stakeholder?

He is right I get to call the shots and deal with the effects of those calls both positive and negative.

What is the response to VInnies own words not wanting a sig guitar...are we still lazy? ;Were we lazy when we hooked Vinnie up with Engl? WEre we lazy when we did his logo and artwork? Were we lazy when we booked international clinic tours? Were we lazy when we built the guitars he asked for?

It must be a slow day at the jiffy lube

ahahahahahah! man this thread just gets funnier!

Fullshred, where do you work? I saw your pics of you and Vinnie so I know you're not 14. Why don't you give us some background about yourself?

Next time you see Vinnie, ask him how the "clinic" in South Korea was that we did for him. I'm sure you won't hear him complaining.
