Hah ... lots of like minds on this board. My top 5 (in terms of lifetime influence) would have to be (in order):

Page, Beck, Lifeson, EVH, Morse

(If only I'd heard more Morse in my formative years.)

I agree that five is not enough because it can really vary rapidly with my mood (Mood for a Day? - uh oh got to add another one) - I've never been tied to a particular style or sound and try to appreciate who I'm listening to when I'm in that mood. I must also admit that I was not aware of Mr. Petrucci until I found this forum and started researching my AL. I've since picked up the Evening With... CD and got a copy of Rock Discipline from Ernie1966 (good man that he is) and am very impressed. I will probaly pick up more stuff - any suggestions would be great - but don't feel I can put him in my personal all time list until I'm more familiar.

So for this post I will break the rules slightly

Danny Gatton
Albert Lee
David Gilmour
SRV
EVH
Dickey Betts
Brian May
Carlos Santana
Mr. Morse
Page
Hendrix

I guess I'm sort of like Donny and Marie  - A little bit country and a little bit Rock and Roll
