I'm kinda with jamminjim on this one...
Wasn't the guitar sold to you as a project guitar? If that's the case, I would EXPECT there to be some inconsistencies with some or all of the parts.
I'm pretty much out of daylight today, but body work starts THIS WEEK.
.... when you consider the poor bugger is only a young'un earning $8/hr, it puts things in perspective....
Just a thought - give Wonderdog a pm - he's BP's Legal Beagle and I'm sure would be able to help.
It's not as if you a masquerading a wannabe guitar as an EB or selling illegal merchandise that purports to be EB. I really don't know the legal implications of it - Wonderdog will.
I I had so much money wrapped up in a 67 RS Camaro restore once that I couldn't sleep or eat for days. My stomach was in knots with worry over the outcome. Well, it came out alright and I lost my ass a little in cost overruns.

Technically you should not copy the logo, that is copyright infringment. I think it is OK to put a genuine logo on a re-finished EBMM, however, because as Spudmurphy points out it is still a real EBMM, just a re-finished one. The problem is how do you get one?
My problem with the logo is that it makes it like it came from the factory and I really cant have a homemade restoration that down the line may reflect on us. Sorry.
