One thing I forgot to mention is that both of these basses are back mounted. We can't load the switch from the front. :D

I prefer the looks without the control plates. But wouldn't that make a half stingray? Anyway, I like both, but for a final conclusion, I'd have to test both :D

Does that mean on number one the plate is there for posterity? It looks great that way I think - thats the way people can tell what you are using.....

So would the control plate be removeable for us types that like the look of #2 better? Or would it show routing holes or something?

I really dig the looks of #2.

As much as I think Rays should have the plate I think that both of them are capable of inducing some serious gas.

I would have loved to have seen a honeyburst/rosewood /control plate combination as the first choice though....mmmmmm

I like the look of number one a lot, the two pickups look very meaty

but one question, is there gonna be a two band eq version of the two pickup SR?
and couldn't have a sneaky blend control with one of those centre detente's instead of a 5 way switch? if it's not too late of course...

Pickup placement?

Hi All,

My first post here... this may have been mentioned already, if so I didn't see it, but... will the location of the back (bridge) pup in the 2-pup Stingray be the same as the pup location on the good ol' 1-pup Ray?

And will the 2-pup Stingray still have the same (alnico) back bridge pup as the one-pup Ray (I understand that the front neck pickup is not the same as the back pup).

And... will the 2-pup Rays be available with a 2-band preamp, or 3-band only?

Thx!
Greg

Why I'm a little bummed w/the 2 pup SR's . . .

I thought it was sacrilage but after getting
my Bongo last week I can't wait to plug one
in. The Bongo sound is HUGE - I luv it.

If the 2 puppers are anything like my Bongo
my disappointment will purely be deciding
which of my single pups to sell. Problem is
I can't bring myself to sell any and I can't
justify more than 6 basses. So I'm bummed
but in a stupid, kinda good way ;)
I'll be ok
no worries . .thanks for your concern

Count me in for #1. I've always had a fondness for the chrome control plate. It looks....well......cool.

When I first heard of the HH 2 Pickup Stingray's, I thought "Hell Yeah, they're gonna sound bitchin and look awesome!" But when I saw the photoshops of 2 pickup stingrays I thought they were too busy looking for some odd reason.

Well, taking off the control plate is the perfect cure for the business (IMO), and when I scrolled down and saw that Sunburst HH 'Ray, it punched me in the face with its looks man!

#2 All the way BABY!!
