Sweet! Going to go see DT live this Friday, can't wait to see John Myung sporting the Bongo 6.

I think the Bongo 6 will be my instrument of 2008.

It will be mine, oh yes... it will be mine.

Boy I sure hope now we'll be able to hear his tone live. The last few times I saw DT, his bass was really burried in the mix and was hardly audible. Those Yammys sounded way too scooped for my taste. Congrats JM and EB!

Wow, just heard the news.

I felt this outcome was never in doubt. Sterling, Dudely and the other boys and girls are just too damn good!

Congrats all around!

Six String Bongo

Ok, Its official.

I am speaking for both myself and the entire Music Man family in welcoming a wonderfully talented bassist and good guy, John Myung of Dream Theater.

John has fallen in love with the prototypes that we made of the Bongo 6 and is now playing them exclusively. He is so in love with them that he wont let me tweak them. He is playing the first proto and has two others from the same batch. This is historic
for us to have hit the nail on the head for an artist without any input, visit, or promise. First time proto hit a home run! WHoopeeeee!

THis was a no promises deal on both sides. It is not a signature bass it is part of the regular line. WE made it without any commitment from him or us. We got lucky.

This is incredible News for more reasons then most people realize, All Jokes aside about six string Basses, The cool thing is this.
99% of all Six String Basses made today are Boutique Made Basses, I can't recall to many Production 6 String basses beside Cort etc. This is a Huge Jump For The Music Man Team and to start Off with John couldn't be a better start.
Congrats to the EB MM Team.

When I saw them in June, there was a big difference between the Yamaha and the Bongo 5. The MM cut through much better.

I am a big JM fan. I am so happy that he is with MM now. Before I know anything about MM guitars I always wanted to see him playing their basses. This will be great for DT and a great thing for MM!

I sure hope so. I got really tired of not being able to hear him. Even in some of the recordings there wasn't much bass presence.

Congrats to EBMM and John. It's great to see them finally get together. I love the fact that Music Man attracts such icons as their endorsers.

pocket groove I thought that is how you dressed when bass shopping in Korea. It is the new improved narrow minded pocket

Zinged by the mastah! :D
Ya got me there, BP! I don't really have anything against DT, in fact, while at Berklee I got to see their amazing keys player do a show with Rod Morgenstern (drummer of the Dixie Dregs) and I was blown away.
I guess you might call it Progressive Southern Rock Jazz Fusion!
So anyways, I'll def. give DT another chance, if for nothing else, just to see what kind of acrobatics Mr. Myung pulls on the big 6.
